ABDOMINAL PLASTIC
Abdominoplasty is a tummy tuck. In the abdomen, three elements are involved: the abdominal wall muscles, subcutaneous fat, and the skin.
A weakened muscle wall (diastasis recti, hernia) can benefit from reconstructive surgery techniques.
Localized fat deposits can benefit from liposuction.
Loose skin may require a facelift.
A mini abdominoplasty addresses the lower abdomen and results in a horizontal, arc-shaped scar above the pubic bone. A full abdominoplasty treats the entire abdomen and requires a long, arc-shaped scar above the pubic bone plus a scar around the navel.
