BREAST AUGMENTATION
Breast augmentation is one of the most frequently performed and reliable procedures in plastic surgery. It is performed under general anesthesia.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Pulcini will ask you about your medical and surgical history, as well as your motivations. He will analyze your body shape, including your silhouette, bust, and waist, which will allow him to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Breast augmentation is performed using breast implants.
BREAST IMPLANTS
Breast implants modify the size, shape, and contour of the breast to restore its roundness and achieve very natural results.
They allow: • Increasing the volume of breasts considered too small by the patient • Lifting the breast in cases of ptosis (sagging due to weight loss or pregnancy) •
Correcting asymmetry • Correcting breast hypotrophy (insufficient glandular development).
There are different shapes of breast implants (round or anatomical) and different projections that determine the fullness of the breast.
Before the intervention
Two consultations are required to determine your treatment plan. Smoking cessation should be scheduled one month prior to the procedure to avoid post-operative complications. Mammography, ultrasound, and MRI are performed as part of a comprehensive radiological assessment.
BREAST AUGMENTATION
Whether for functional or aesthetic reasons, breast reduction can be the solution to feeling better about your body. Breast reduction surgery is indicated in cases of excessively large and sagging breasts (hypertrophy) that cause discomfort, back pain, or aesthetic concerns that distort the silhouette.
If more than 300 grams are removed from each breast, it may be considered a plastic surgery procedure covered by health insurance.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Pulcini will ask you about your medical and surgical history, as well as your motivations. She will analyze your body shape: silhouette, bust, curves, waist, and cup size, which will allow her to develop a personalized treatment plan that is harmonious for both your figure and your health.
Breast reduction lifts a patient's breasts while reducing their volume, resulting in a natural appearance.
Who is breast reduction surgery for?
Breast reduction surgery can be performed at any age. In young women, the surgeon will wait until the patient is around 17 or 18 years old before operating, as this is the age at which breast development is complete. It is also recommended to wait 12 months after the end of the last pregnancy before having the procedure. Conversely, there is no upper age limit for surgery if the patient has no contraindications.
Before the procedure
Two consultations with the plastic surgeon are required to determine your treatment plan. You must stop smoking one month before the procedure. A mammogram and a glandular ultrasound will be performed as part of a comprehensive radiological assessment prescribed by the plastic surgeon.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The scars are in an "anchor" or inverted T shape: a horizontal scar in the inframammary fold, one around the areola, and a vertical one between the inframammary fold and the areola.
A breast lift or breast ptosis correction is a surgical procedure that consists of lifting and reshaping sagging breasts while giving them a natural appearance that will evolve harmoniously over time.
Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) is for women with sagging, empty breasts, which can occur after one or more pregnancies, breastfeeding, weight loss, or even during adolescence.
This procedure can be performed at any age. In young women, the surgeon will wait until the patient is around 17 or 18 years old before operating, as breast development is usually complete. It is also recommended to wait 12 months after the end of the last pregnancy before having the procedure.
After breast surgery
A compression bra should be worn day and night for one month, then for 12 hours a day for an additional 15 days to allow for healing. A gradual return to sports activities should begin one month after surgery.
