LE DÉTATOUAGE

Tattoos are pigment deposits in the dermis or hypodermis

The principle behind the lasers currently used for tattoo removal is the fragmentation of the pigment.
The development of the triggered lasers (Q-switched) revolutionized tattoo erasing treatments, which in many cases can be eliminated with almost no marks.
This type of laser is the only way to properly remove tattoos while avoiding scars that are common with other strategies such as CO2, dermabrasion, or acid-based tattoo removals. It uses innovative photoacoustic technology that generates powerful energy through narrower pulses.

TREATMENT INDICATIONS

The QUANTA Q-Switched laser makes it possible to remove all types of professional and amateur tattoos. Small decorative tattoos in black, blue, or red respond well to the laser and can often be erased quickly. Orange and violet inks can also be treated with excellent results thanks to the use of a specific crystal for these color types. Turquoise and green are the colors that resist the most. Cosmetic tattoos used as permanent makeup can also be removed.

PROTOCOL

PRIOR CONSULTATION

The prior consultation not only allows a quote to be prepared, but also enables prescribing a care protocol that helps optimize the course and results, both short- and medium-term, of the tattoo removal sessions.

SESSION FLOW

During treatment, brief, focused light pulses are directed at the tattoo. The light wavelengths and energy heat the tattoo and fragment the ink molecules. Fragmentation of mineral particles leads partly to their trans-epidermal elimination and partly to their phagocytosis by macrophages. The tattoo fades as the immune system eliminates the dispersed ink particles. Quanta System’s Q-PLUS laser is the only Q-switched laser that can be configured with Ruby and Nd:YAG laser sources. It therefore uses the 532, 694, and 1064 nm wavelengths. This allows all tattoo colors to be removed effectively, mainly black, blue, purple, yellow, green, and red pigments, with a very low risk of scarring or changes to skin texture.

The session takes place under local anesthesia. Treatment is gradual. Several spaced sessions are required. For complete treatment, plan on 6 to 8 sessions spaced one month apart.

Black or blue tattoo removal requires, depending on their size and depth, 3 to 10 treatment sessions.

The presence of multiple colors may require additional sessions.

AFTERCARE

After tattoo removal, the treated area goes through a weeping phase.

It is important for the patient to apply dressings that include a local antibiotic during the first week, and then dressings that include a wound-healing agent during the following two weeks.

A check-up is essential after one month, if needed during the next session of the care program.
